“Security companies continue to seek new methods to fight data breaches at retailers, banks and other companies that have giant storehouses of consumer payments data, and a new one arrived Wednesday: Working directly with the payments provider instead. FireEye announced a partnership with Visa on Wednesday, with the two Silicon Valley companies agreeing to combine the troves of information they receive on attempted attacks for a new offering aimed at merchants as well as the banks that issue Visa cards. “By combining Visa’s unparalleled view into global payments and FireEye’s industry-leading cyber security expertise, we intend to bring faster, actionable intelligence directly to players across the payments system,” Visa CEO Charlie Scharf said in Wednesday’s announcement. “
